Nani Translate: Roadmap 2026

Updates

I’d like to share our vision for Nani!? (Nani Translate) in 2026 and highlight the updates we currently have in the works.

While there’s a long list of things we want to achieve, our roadmap is built around three core pillars:

  1. Frictionless speed: Translating with minimal effort.
  2. Contextual precision: Getting the right tone in fewer steps.
  3. Integrated learning: Growing your language skills while you translate.

1. Frictionless Speed: Translating with Minimal Effort

Modern AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini can produce excellent translations. However, the "micro-tasks" involved (copying and pasting, switching between apps, toggling models, or asking follow-up questions to adjust the tone) can become a significant mental tax.

The core mission of Nani!? is to absorb those small inconveniences and minimize context switching. To make the experience even more seamless, we are planning to launch a browser extension in the first half of 2026.

2. Contextual Precision: Reaching the Perfect Result Faster

Currently, Nani!? allows users to fine-tune style and nuance during or after translation. However, we feel that "polishing" existing text is an area where we can do more.

In upcoming updates, we will introduce native proofreading and editing features, allowing you to improve your writing directly within the tool. We are also working on a feature to streamline "conversational rallies," making it effortless to translate incoming messages and craft your responses in a continuous flow.

3. Integrated Learning: Growing Your Skills on the Fly

We want Nani!? to be more than just a utility; we want it to be a bridge to language mastery. Our goal is to create a tool where you can expand your vocabulary and grasp subtle expressions as you work.

In 2026, we plan to introduce AI-powered pronunciation checks and deep dictionary integration, allowing you to look up definitions and idioms for any word in your translation results instantly.

Other Updates

We have plenty of other improvements in the pipeline, with the following scheduled for release as soon as possible:

  • Dark Mode support
  • Expanded language support

Looking further ahead, we are also exploring mobile app support and PDF translation. While these may not fully land in 2026, they are high on our priority list for future development.

What We’re Not Doing

To stay focused, we have decided not to pursue real-time voice translation. Our priority remains solving the specific frustrations of text-based communication.

Rather than chasing "flashy" gimmicks, Nani!? will continue to focus on solving the small, everyday hurdles of translation. We look forward to making your daily workflow just a little bit smoother in 2026.
