About the sensitive model

Nani's standard models sometimes stop partway through when translating sexual content or similar text. The sensitive model is less likely to stop on this kind of text.

Switching to it and back

To switch, open the translation settings, select "Use sensitive model", then select "Switch". You can also select "Switch" in the message shown when a translation is interrupted. It's available on the Free plan too, as long as you're logged in.

While the sensitive model is on, a red dot appears on the button that opens the translation settings. To switch back to a standard model, open the translation settings and select "Fast". On the Pro plan, you can also select "Advanced".

Providers and data handling

With the sensitive model, translations run on AI models from different providers than the standard models.

On all plans, including Free, we only use services that explicitly state that your input and output are not used for training and are not retained after processing.

We may change the models and providers based on translation quality and stability, provided they continue to meet the conditions above. For more details, see Security of Nani Translate.

Differences from the standard models

  • Translation style and quality may differ from the standard models
  • The Advanced model is not used, even on the Pro plan
  • Only used for translation, including follow-up questions and reply drafts. Other features, such as proofreading and summaries, still use the standard models
  • Interruptions become less likely, but some content may still fail to translate
